Yanique Walcolm


B.ed, Modern Languages (Spanish, French), Shortwood Teachers' College


Yanique is a teacher of Spanish and French. She has several years of experience, teaching and advising students interested in learning a foreign language, passing their exams and participating in immersion programs abroad. Currently, she is a teacher at the Alliance Française in Jamaica and at St. Georges College.

She has experience working in France as a teacher of English and she also did a semester at the University of Panama as a part of her language immersion.

Yanique is a very passionate and devoted educator who has a deep love for languages.

She looks forward to not just ensuring that you pass your exams but also that you learn a new culture and enjoy a better life through foreign languages.

Khalil Stennett

B.ed, Modern Languages(French, Spanish) Shortwood Teachers' College

Khalil is a passionate teacher of French and Spanish. He devotes himself to the continuous development of his competence in the languages. He currently works at St. Andrews High School for Girls where he helps student to discover the advantages of learning a second language.

Dwayne Samuels

Dwayne Samuels possesses a BEd in French and Spanish granted by the Shortwood Teachers’ Collegein collaboration with the University of the West Indies (UWI). His Qualifications also include a‘Diplôme d'Études en Langue Française’ (DELF) B1 Certificate, attesting to his level of proficiency in the French Language as well as an ‘attestation’ from the ‘Université de Clermont-Ferrand,’ France, for having completed studies there for a duration of three (3) months. There he studied Linguistics and how to teach French as a Foreign Language. A certificate from the ‘Instituto de Cervantes’ on how to teach Spanish as a foreign Language also forms a part of his qualifications.


He is currently employed as a teacher of French and Spanish at the St. George's College and as a
teacher of French at the Alliance Française de la Jamaïque.


He looks forward to working with you and making sure that you have the best learning experience
possible.

Shamore Roberts

IB. Ed, Modern Languages (French, Spanish), Shortwood Teacher’s College

Shamore completed 4 years of teacher training at Shortwood Teacher’s College, where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in French with Spanish. He has been to France on two occasions. The first time he went, he attended a University in Angers, France where he completed some courses as a part of the immersion program.
In the second instance, as an assistant of English, where he taught English and Jamaican culture.

At the moment, he is a teacher of French and Spanish at Immaculate Conception high school. He has been teaching for quite some time now, where he continues to improve on mastering his craft in the languages. He really enjoys inspiring young children to be the best version of themselves through languages and/or culture.

Maria Natalia Medina

B.ed, (English), University of Panama.

María Natalia Medina is a teacher of Englishas a Second Language. She has several years of experience, teaching and advising students interested in learning a foreign language, passing their exams, and participating in immersion programs abroad. Currently, she is studying a specialty in Diversified Secondary Education in Panama at University of Panama.

She has experience working in Panama as a teacher of English as Second Language and she also did a semester at Southeastern Louisiana University as a part of her language immersion.

Jemilla Blackwood


B.ed, Modern Languages (Spanish, French), Shortwood Teachers' College


Jemilla is a teacher of Spanish and French. She has spent 3 years teaching and advising students interested in learning a foreign language, being successful in their exams and participating in immersion programs abroad. Currently, she is a teacher at Jamaica College and she does tutoring lessons within her community (St. Thomas).

She has experience working with Basic School children as a teacher of Spanish and she also did a semester at the university of Panama as a part of her language immersion.

Daneka s. Russell

B.ed, Modern Languages (Spanish, French), Shortwood Teachers' College

Daneka is a trained teacher of Spanish and French. She is passionate about languages and this passion helps her to maximize on student learning. She believes in a more student-centred classroom where students actively participate in their learning. Ms Russell earned a Bachelor of Education degree in Spanish and French with a first class honours. She is currently a teacher of Spanish at the Garvey Maceo High school. She currently prepares students for the CSEC Spanish exam. She is an ardent worker and loves interacting with different people.
